Joanna Germann Zalewski
Joanna Germann Zalewski has worked with Alejandro Caffarelli since 2005, and she currently serves as the Manager of the Firm. She speaks Polish and English, and has been an interpreter for our clients appearing before the U.S. and Illinois Departments of Labor. Ms. Germann Zalewski graduated from Jagiellonian University in Krakow in 2004, and received the title of Master of Law, specializing in international public law. While in law school, she was actively involved in creating television programs for students and young adults for Polish Television in Krakow. During her academic years, Ms. Germann Zalewski was also engaged in international student organizations and organizations helping children with learning disabilities.
Mariela Cano
Mariela Cano has worked with Alejandro Caffarelli since 2008 as the Firm’s Administrator. Ms. Cano is fluent in English and Spanish, which enables her to support the Firm’s Spanish-speaking clients. Ms. Cano attended Northeastern Illinois University and Wilbur Wright College, while she concentrated on undergraduate studies in education and a minor in psychology. Ms. Cano has six years of voluntary work experience with nonprofit organizations that specialize in helping low and middle income families in the Hispanic community and continues to work with local volunteer groups in the city.
Margarita Rodriguez
Margarita has worked as the Firm’s Intake Specialist since 2025 and is fluent in both English and Spanish. She earned her Associate’s Degree in Business from Harold Washington College in Chicago in 1999. Margarita brings to the Firm extensive administrative and customer service experience across corporate, construction, and nonprofit settings, where she was recognized for her professionalism, reliability, and compassionate approach to client and employee support. Her dedication to providing excellent customer service and her empathetic demeanor help ensure that each client receives the attention and care they deserve from the very beginning of their case.
